Castilla go ten unbeaten in Alicante

2 week(s)

A deserved draw for Castilla at the Rico Pérez stadium in Alicante. In added time in a very even contest against Hércules, Loren Zúñiga earned Raúl's team a point after Soldevilla had put the home side ahead after 16 minutes. Our reserve team is unbeaten so far this year and has now gone ten consecutive games undefeated.
The heavy rain falling on the Rico Pérez stadium did not prevent the match from starting with a constant back and forth and, after fifteen minutes, the home side took the lead with a goal by Soldevila after a fantastic header with his back to the goal from inside the area. The goal did not dampen Castilla’s spirits and although they gradually began to dominate possession, this did not translate into goal scoring opportunities until the 42nd minute when Youssef drove into the area and his cutback was deflected by Artiles, who narrowly avoided putting the ball into his own goal.
The reward came in added time
Raúl's team emerged more dominant after the break, but despite frequent incursions into their penalty area the home defence was very solid. Having been barely called upon until the 82nd minute, Carlos Abad came to his team’s rescue, saving De León’s powerful header from Víctor Muñoz’s cross. Castilla's pressure was overwhelming and in added time the deserved equaliser arrived. Youssef crossed from the left wing and Loren Zúñiga’s splendid header found the back of the net. Our reserve team remains unbeaten in 2025 and has now gone ten games undefeated.
