eal Madrid claimed their 15th Copa de España football trophy with a 2-1 win over Sporting de Gijón. The Whites took an early lead courtesy of an own goal by Jiménez. The Asturians equalised from the penalty spot before the break and, in the 57th minute, Ángel struck the goal that ultimately clinched the trophy for the Madridistas.
