Tribute to Paralympic medallists
1 month(s)
The Santiago Bernabéu stadium paid tribute to the Madridistas who won medals at the recent Paralympic Games in Paris. Before the clash between Real Madrid and Villarreal, our stadium gave a standing ovation to Íñigo Llopis, gold in swimming (100 m backstroke); Daniel Caverzaschi, bronze in wheelchair tennis (doubles); Susana Rodríguez, gold in triathlon; Teresa Perales, bronze in swimming (50 m backstroke) and the most decorated Spanish athlete in the history of the Paralympic Games with 28 medals; and Sergio Garrote, gold in time trial and silver in road cycling. All of them proudly displayed their medals to our fans and the players of both teams gave them an honorary tunnel in recognition of their achievements.
