Win over Levante

4 week(s)

Real Madrid have picked up their second away win of the week. Our team, who beat Real Sociedad on Tuesday, went on to get the better of Levante and extend their positive run with a 15th LaLiga win of the season . Weir struck from the spot (23’), and Redondo unleashed a left-footed drive from the edge of the box (27’) to put Toril's team two ahead, before Levante cut the deficit with a set piece prior to halftime (42’).
Our team enjoyed a fantastic opening period that put them well on the way to the win. After a cagey initial spell, the madridistas eased into the game and began to create chances. With 23 minutes on the clock, the referee pointed to the spot after Redondo was fouled and Weir stepped up to make it 0-1 from 12 yards. Five minutes on, the Scotland international was involved again, setting up Redondo with a delightful back-heel to make it 2-0 with a fierce drive from the edge of the box. On the stroke of halftime, Eva Alonso cut the deficit following a corner.
Toril's team looked to kill the game off as they came out for the second half. Teresa tried her luck on 52’, before Levante hit back through Paula Fernández. Redondo could have had her brace on 74’, only to see a goal ruled out for offside. As the minutes ticked by, the intensity dropped off and the game ended without change on the scoreboard.
