Real Madrid produced a stunning victory against Athletic Club in their return to the competition after the international break. The Whites had to come from behind on their first visit to the San Mamés stadium in a clash between the second and third-placed teams. The home side took the lead with a penalty converted by Nahikari, but Toril’s side equalised through Lakrar (40’) and Olga then turned the result on its head with a superb goal (80').

The game began badly for Real Madrid. After 10 minutes, the referee awarded a penalty after a foul on Nahikari by Athenea, which the striker converted to make it 1-0. Feller almost equalised soon after, but her shot was saved by Nanclares. The scoreline did not reflect the team's dominance and they had the majority of the chances, including two shots against the crossbar from Weir. Before half-time, Lakrar equalised from a corner at the far post. The Frenchwoman has now found the back of the net for two games on the trot.

More chances for the Madridistas
The Madridista's dominance continued in the second half and they almost made it 1-2 on a number of occasions. Toletti tried her luck with a fierce drive from the edge of the area, but the keeper pulled off a good save. Shortly afterwards, Bruun headed narrowly wide from Antonia's cross (49').

Olga’s superb goal completes comeback
In the 80th minute, Olga produced a stunning piece of brilliance to break the deadlock. She won the ball back in midfield, saw Nanclares ahead of her and fired a precise long-range shot that caught the keeper out and flew into the top corner. The captain dedicated the goal to her teammates Teresa and Rocío, who sustained serious injuries. This was Real Madrid’s fifth consecutive win in the Liga F.
