Victory eludes Castilla in stoppage time

5 day(s)

Castilla drew in their visit to Yeclano in Primera Federación matchday 30. After a very even first half, our reserve team took the lead at the Municipal La Constitución thanks to Jacobo’s goal in the 52nd minute. Manuel Ángel was sent off ten minutes before the end and, despite fantastic saves by Fran González, the home team equalised through Juanje in stoppage time. With this draw, Castilla remain unbeaten in 2025.
Gonzalo fired a warning after a few minutes of play, flashing a shot over the bar from the edge of the area (9'). Yeclano’s reply came via crosses into the box from the right wing. Things were extremely even with neither team able to generate danger. The home side had the clearest chance of the first half with a shot along the goalline from the right that Fran González kept out.
After the half-time break, the 52nd minute brought a change in the tone of the match. Borja Alonso received the ball on the right flank and put a good cross into the area, where Jacobo connected with a header to make the score 0-1. Yeclano, spurred on by their fans, went forward in search of the equaliser. They had a chance after the hour mark when Solsona's shot inside the area crashed against the crossbar.
No luck for Castilla
The madridistas were also pushing for a goal and Gonzalo came within a whisker after a spectacular run that ended with a shot across goal that whizzed past the post. The match took a turn for the worse for Castilla when they were reduced to 10 after Manuel Ángel’s red card in the 80th minute. Raúl's team held on thanks to Fran González’s stops until the 93rd minute, when Juanje volleyed and, in trying to clear it, Jacobo deflected the ball and it ended up in the net.
