At the end of the team's fourth training session in preparation for the Club World Cup, Fede Valverde was interviewed by Realmadrid TV. The midfielder discussed the team's hopes of winning the competition and praised Xabi Alonso: “We're approaching the Club World Cup with plenty of enthusiasm and excitement. It's the first one and hopefully we can win it. We're going there with a lot of belief and optimism to do what we've been doing these last few days with the new coach, the new coaching staff and the new players. It'd be great to close or start the year with a big trophy with Real Madrid.”
