On 3 December 2002, the Whites won the third of their eight world champion titles, and it was also in the club's Centenary year. This marked the end of a glorious 2002 the club secured La Novena and their first Uefa Super Cup.
Ronaldo was one of the stars of the match against Olimpia de Asunción, as he put the Madridistas ahead in the 14th minute.
