Real Madrid faced Celta at the Santiago Bernabéu as Modrić marked 350 LaLiga appearances for the club. The Croatian, who was presented with a commemorative jersey by president Florentino Pérez, has played the most games amongst the current squad in this competition, with a record of 236 wins, 62 draws and 52 defeats.
Modrić has won LaLiga three times (2016-17, 2019-20 and 2021-22) and has scored 28 goals in this competition to date. He played his first Spanish league match in September 2012 against Granada at the Bernabéu and his highest number of appearances in one campaign is 35 matches (2020-21). He has faced Atlético de Madrid more than any other team in LaLiga, having played them 23 times.
“It wasn't an easy game and we competed in the best way possible," he said after the win at the Nuevo Los Cármenes.
