Courtois: "We didn't perform well offensively"
3 week(s)
Courtois spoke to the press after the Liverpool-Real Madrid clash. The goalkeeper had this to say: “Liverpool are one of the most in-form teams in Europe at the moment and playing here is always difficult. We competed and defended well, especially in the first half, but offensively we didn't perform well and we struggled to create danger. We didn't manage to finish off our counter-attacks with the final pass and it's difficult like that. In the second half, they made it 1-0 early and unfortunately, we missed the penalty. We kept trying, but after the second goal it was difficult.”
“We lacked a bit of flair in the game. We did better in the second half, but they were clinical. Obviously, we're missing players, but we never use that as an excuse. We are who we are and we're going to keep fighting. Today we lost against a better team and that's alright. It makes it difficult for us to get into the top eight, but we have to try to beat Atalanta and the other two remaining games to qualify.”
Camavinga’s injury
"It could be a tweak that he's felt, that's two or three weeks minimum. The boys from the youth team are doing well, Asencio had a great game, like a veteran. I'm sure there are guys from Castilla or the under-19s who will help us.”
