Castilla secure their fourth consecutive victory
5 hour(s)
Real Madrid Castilla continue their winning streak. Arbeloa's side beat Real Avilés at the Alfredo Di Stéfano to secure their fourth consecutive victory in the Primera Federación. It was a fine performance from Loren Zúñiga, who scored both goals in the first half in the 19th and 26th minutes. The visitors had their chances in the second half, but Castilla maintained their dominance until the end.
Avilés came out strongly, but Arbeloa's side improved as the minutes passed and their superiority soon translated into goals. Loren Zúñiga opened the scoring. After a quick burst down the left, Palacios sent in a measured cross into the six-yard box for the striker to get on the end of it and head home.
Our team were not content with 1-0 and soon doubled their lead. This time, David Jiménez assisted Loren with a drilled cross from the right, who finished unmarked from the edge of the area to score the second goal of the night, his third goal in two games. Shortly before half-time, Osky prevented the Real Madrid forward from netting a hat-trick, clearing his shot practically off the goal line.
After the restart, Avilés stepped up a gear, trying to turn the result around. They could have reduced the deficit in the 64th minute through Gete, but his shot crashed off the crossbar. After a good spell for the visitors, Castilla regained control of the game and held on until the end. Arbeloa's side's next fixture is on Wednesday, 29 October, when they visit Southampton in the Premier League International Cup (8pm CET).
