Castilla salvage a point at Fuenlabrada

1 month(s)

Real Madrid Castilla claimed a draw on their visit to the Fernando Torres stadium. Raúl's side put on a determined display to twice come from behind against Fuenlabrada. Despite a good start from the academy side, it was the hosts who took the lead in the 15th minute with a low shot from Garrido from the edge of the area.

The Madridistas established control of the game and in the 28th minute they equalised after a cross from Víctor Muñoz was headed into his own net by Marcos Mauro. Fuenlabrada managed to find the back of the net before the break with a Cedric shot in the box to make it 2-1.

After the restart, Castilla went in search of an equaliser, and managed to draw level again from the penalty spot. In the 59th minute, Loren Zúñiga was brought down in the area and Gonzalo converted the spot-kick. The striker has now scored five times in five games. Castilla went in search of a winner in the final stages of the game and almost got one in the 81st minute when a ball from Gonzalo sailed in front of the hosts' goal and Loren Zúñiga couldn't get on the end of it by a few centimetres. Despite the Madridista's bright spell, the scoreline remained the same.
