Castilla defeat Huelva with a brace apiece for Gonzalo and Víctor Muñoz

5 day(s)

Real Madrid Castilla remain unbeaten since the start of 2025 and picked up three points on their visit to the Nuevo Colombino stadium. Recreativo de Huelva took the lead in the 30th minute. But after the home side's goal, our reserve team thundered into life and came back with two goals each from Gonzalo and Víctor Muñoz, who also provided two assists. With this victory, Raúl's side extend their unbeaten run to 15 games.
There was little to report until the half-hour mark, when Recreativo de Huelva took the lead from the penalty spot through Quintana. But Castilla did not take long to equalise and even take the lead. They did so in just three minutes (36‘ and 39’). First, Gonzalo got in behind the defence and finished Víctor Muñoz’s cross from the right with the tip of his boot. The latter was not satisfied with just an assist and shortly afterwards made it 1-2 with a moment of magic. He picked up Manuel Ángel's through ball in the midfield, flicked the ball beautifully over Becken's head to give him the slip and drive into the area before finishing with his right foot.
Braces from Víctor Muñoz and Gonzalo
Just after the whistle blew for the start of the second half, Víctor Muñoz found the net again to complete his brace. Pol Fortuny played an excellent pass into space for the Castilla striker, whose good first touch allowed him to get away from his defender and through on goal. With the goalkeeper coming out, he fired a low shot with his left foot that ended up in the net after first hitting the right post. The Madrid side were far superior and, in the 67th minute, Gonzalo also wanted his share of the action. It was a carbon copy of the visitors’ first goal with Víctor Muñoz finding his teammate with a deep pass and Gonzalo rounded the goalkeeper to give himself an easy finish for the game's final goal to leave the scoreboard at 1-4.
