Raúl Asencio made his official debut for Real Madrid in the victory over Osasuna at the Santiago Bernabéu. The Castilla defender replaced Militão in the 30th minute and produced a sublime performance, including an assist for Bellingham for the team’s second goal. Asencio, who joined the club in the 2017/18 season and is in his second campaign with the academy side, spoke to Realmadrid TV after his debut: “Ever since I started playing football I dreamed of this. It's the dream of every boy who takes his first steps in football. Being able to fulfil this dream, is amazing, I can't find the words to describe it.”

His assist for Bellingham
“I went onto the pitch, it didn't take me long to adjust to the situation and I saw Bellingham's run. It's very easy to play alongside them (his teammates), they're the best players in the world and they make things very easy.”

On being congratulated by his teammates
“In these moments, few words come out. It shows what the team is, it's a family and in the training sessions I'm with them I can feel that. I'll keep this in my heart and in my mind for the rest of my life.”

On how he has enjoyed this period
“I'm trying to take it in, enjoying every day and every minute that I'm with my teammates. The big moment finally arrived.”

His characteristics
“I'd define myself as a player who is comfortable on the defensive side. I show a lot of character on and off the pitch. I like to help my teammates, I'm serious, strong and I always look out for the team.”
