Gonzalo starred in the Spain Under-21s' victory over Finland in a European Championship qualifying match. The Real Madrid striker, who started and played the full game, scored and provided an assist as the national team staged a comeback in the final minutes.
Finland took the lead in the 65th minute courtesy of an own goal by Gasiorowski. Just when it looked like the visitors were going to claim victory, Gonzalo stepped up. In the 90th minute, he sent a cross into the six-yard box for Mayenda to equalise. Three minutes later, he controlled the ball inside the box and fired a shot across goal that sailed just inside the post to give Spain all three points.
